A FIM/ATOM-PROBE STUDY OF PHASE TRANSFORMATIONS IN MOLYBDENUM STEELS

Abstract
FIM/AP, TEM, STEM X-ray analysis and dilatometry indicate that both M2C precipitation and a soluted-drag-like effect are associated with reaction retardation in Fe-C-Mo alloy. There is no evidence for molybenum or carbon/molybdenum clustering in austenite.
