Abstract
A Mössbauer spectroscopy study of the (Fe0.70Cr0.30)75P15C10 amorphous reentrant spin glass, previously studied by low field measurement and neutron scattering, shows that even at 2 K, 15 per cent of the iron atoms are non-magnetic. The average hyperfine field of the magnetic atoms increases with a slightly larger slope when the temperature is lowered below 40 K, which is the temperature below which a Lorentzian square contribution has to be added to fit the small angle neutron scattering data. The behaviour of this alloy is compared with those observed in crystalline FexCr1-x and FexAu1-x.
