Abstract
A model is presented which can simulate the stress-strain curves of memory alloys in their dependence on temperature. The static theory of the model makes use of the classical tools of statistical mechanics, while the dynamic theory considers the austenitic-martensitic transition as an activated process, for which non-linear rate laws for the phase factors and for temperature are formulated and solved numerically.
