Abstract
A waveguiding technique intended for photoconductivity measurements in thin films is described. This new method which offers at least one order of magnitude enhancement over conventional photoconductivity technique is used to determine the optical absorption of a a-Si:H film at photon energies down to 0.65 eV. These results, combined with optical and conventional photoconductivity measurements, allow to draw the optical absorption spectrum of the sample between 0.65 and 2.2 eV.
