Abstract
A correlation between the structural parameters of the AFeX3 (A = Cs, Rb and X = Cl, Br) linear chain compounds crystallizing with the hexagonal perovskite structure and the magnetic parameters, superexchange and anisotropy obtained from inelastic neutron scattering data is presented. Special attention is paid to the induced-moment character of the Fe2+ ion these compounds.
