Abstract
The magnetic heat capacity of Co1-xMnxCl2.2H2O with competing exchange interactions has been observed. A characteristic broad maximum appears around 4.5 K for x = 0.46 : nearly half of the magnetic entropy remains in the temperature region above 4.5 K. These thermal properties are discussed in comparison with other glassy systems.
