Abstract
We have investigated the magnetic properties of the compounds Pr2Fe14-xMnxC by means of magnetic measurements and by means of 57Fe Mössbauer effect spectroscopy. From magnetic measurements made in magnetic fields up to 35 T it was derived that Mn substitution leads to a decrease of the saturation moment. This decrease in saturation moment is parallelled by a strong decrease in the Curie temperatures, while the corresponding 57Fe Mössbauer spectra are characterized by a marked reduction in hyperfine fields and considerable line broadening.
