Abstract
Measurements of the quadrupolar part of the nuclear spin relaxation rate, RO, are reported for the liquid metallic alloys In-Sn and Sn-Sb. The relaxation rate has been observed as a function of concentration and temperature. We used the 340 µs isomeric state 117mSb in a TDPAD experiment. Inspection of the systematical trends in the data for RO in In-X alloys suggests a correlation between RO and the concentration fluctuations. The explanation for the sensitivity of RO is sought by discussing short range order in liquid alloys.
