Spectroscopic study of the electronic structure of USb

Résumé
Nous présentons et discutons les premières mesures de réflectivité effectuées sur des monocristaux de USb. Un schéma de niveaux d'énergie est dérivé montrant un recouvrement des états 5f et 6d. Les électrons libres que nous observons sont attribués à la délocalisation d'électrons f qui résulte d'une hybridation f-d.
Abstract
We present and discuss the first reflectivity measurements on USb single crystals. An energy level scheme is deduced which shows that 5f and 6d states overlap. The observed free electrons are related to the delocalization of f electrons resulting from the f-d hybridization.
