Abstract
Measurements of the low temperature specific heat cp of the reentrant ferromagnetic alloys Fe50Ni35Mn15 and Fe57Ni23Cr20 show that the large linear parts of cp are reduced by 15 % and 25 % respectively in a magnetic field of 6 T. This observation constitutes a confirmation of the magnetic origin of the excess specific heat at low temperatures.
