Abstract
The study of grain boundary sliding (GBS) in zinc bicrystals revealed several types of sliding, different in their phenomenology. "Pure" GBS and GBS compatible with intragranular slip are of special interest. Major regularities of these types of sliding have been established. The effect of the GBS intensification by the diffusion flow of impurities along the boundary (analogous to DIGM) has been discovered and investigated. The discovered peculiarities of GBS in the studied bicrystals can be explained proceeding from the dislocational point of view on the nature of sliding.
