ADATOM DIFFUSION ON METALS : Ir ON W(110)

Abstract
The diffusion of a single iridium atom on W(110) has been characterized by measurements of the mean square displacement at different temperatures, and of the distribution function governing displacements at a low temperature. Multiple jumps are found to make a sizable contribution to diffusive motion.
