ADSORPTION OF HEAVY RARE-EARTH ATOMS ON (011) AND (111)W

Abstract
The regularities of the work function variation on W(011) and (111) faces induced by adsorption of heavy rare-earth (RE) atoms (excepting Yb) at ultra high vacuum (10-9 -10-10 Pa) and at 77 K has been studied by field electron microscopy. The initial adatom dipole moments on these faces have been determined.
