DIELECTRICAL ENHANCEMENT AND PASSIVATION LAYERS FOR MAGNETO-OPTICAL THIN FILMS

Abstract
Magneto-optical Kerr-rotation spectra are presented for bilayer and quadrilayer thin film structures. Results are compared to model calculations. For TbFeCo and a dielectric medium with index of refraction n = 2 we find for substrate incidence and λ = 633 nm enhancement factors of 2.5 and 8 for bilayer and quadrilayer structures, respectively
