Abstract
The thermal expansion coefficient α of Fe100-xBx (15 ≤ x ≤ 25) glasses has been measured in the temperature range 4.2-300 K. The magnetic contribution to α is similar to that of Fe-Ni Invars. Within the framework of a proposed model, connecting the atomic structure and magnetism, we have substantiated the coexistence of ferro- and antiferromagnetic components and treated Invar behaviour of a in terms of the exchange interaction between them.
