EFFECTS OF DIMENSIONALITY ON CRITICAL SCALING IN TWO ISING-TYPE INSULATING SPIN GLASSES

Abstract
We show that the Ising-type spin glass Fe0.35Mg0.65Br2 behaves as a 3d spin glass with a transition at finite Tc = 1.9 K. In contrast, we conclude for Fe0.3Mg0.7Cl2 to a transition at Tc = 0 associated with an exponential divergence of the non-linear susceptibility Xn1.T and of the relaxation time τ.
