Abstract
The continuous transition from Kondo state to intermediate valence state in Y1-xCexAl2 is revealed both in the magnetic susceptibility and Gd ESR spectrum. The strong dependence of the Gd resonance on the magnetic state of the Ce ions is explained by an additional relaxation mechanism due to the coupling of the Gd ions to the fluctuating Ce spins by the RKKY interaction.
