MODES OF FAILURE OF MATERIALS UNDER THE DYNAMIC LOADING

Résumé
On propose un modèle pour évaluer les mécanismes de rupture d'un matériau soumis à différentes vitesses de chargement. On montre expérimentalement que les variations de la résistance par rapport à la vitesse de sollicitation ne sont pas monotones. Ce phénomène est décrit par le modèle. On précise pour chacun des mécanismes les limites d'application de l'équation phénoménologique.
Abstract
A model to evaluate the failure mechanisms of materials under the various loading rates is proposed. The dependence of strength on loading rate is experimentally shown to be nonmonotonic, the phenomenon described by the model. The limits to apply phenomenological equations for each of the mechanisms are also indicated.
