ISOTOPIC EFFECTS IN XPS SPECTRA OF H2O AND D2O

Abstract
XPS results on the valence electron spectra of H2O and D2O show small but clearly detectable
isotope effects. For the outermost 2B1,2A1, and 2B2 states the effects are comparible with the earlier
UPS-results. For the inner valence levels the isotope effects are demonstrated for thefirst time.
