UTILISATION DU LASER DANS LE DIABETE

Abstract
The fluorescein angiography confronted to the biomicroscopic examination have permetted a better acknow ledgment of the modalities of the diabetic retinopathy and the indications for lasertherapy. The purpose of the photocoagulation is to perform a scar beetween pigmentary epithelium, choroid and outer layers of the retina, which respect the inner layers of the retina. The result of the scar is double : a destruction of the layers of the retina which needed great quantities of oxygen and allowed a better oxygenation of the ischemic inner layers ; and a destruction of capillary anomalies, a closure of the extern plexiform layer, which limits the progression of the edema, its resorption by the pigmentary epithelium. Argon lasertherapy is used and the author reports the parameters and the methods used for the treatment of the macula edema, of the ischemic and proliferative retinopathy. The results show a improvment of the pronostic of the diabetic retinopathy.
