OPTICAL MEASUREMENTS AND THE PROPERTIES OF GLASSES

Abstract
In this paper, we review recent experimental and theoretical work on the optical properties of molecules embedded in glassy hosts. We note that different theoretical models can yield agreement with experiment, and that the properties of the glass are not easily accessible by these methods.
