PHONONS IN GRAPHITE INTERCALATION COMPOUNDS

Abstract
Vibrational excitations in pristine graphite and in graphite intercalation compounds are discussed. Modes associated with carbon atom intralayer motions and with the internal excitations of guest molecular species are emphasized.
