Abstract
The thermal conductivity of α-HgI2 single crystals has been measured from 50 mK to 200 K, and the results discussed qualitatively and quantitatively. It is concluded that phonons are scattered mainly by clusters of interstitial defects due to the lack of stoichiometry of the crystals.
