Abstract
The Brillouin scattering spectra of NaNO2 have been observed as a function of temperature near the two phase transition points ; normal (paraelectric)-incomensurate (antiferroelectric) and incommensurate-comensurate (ferroelectric) phase transition points. A simple temperature dependence of the Brillouin frequency shifts has been found in the incomensurate phase indicating existence of a dispersion of the sound velocity in hypersonic frequency.
