Abstract
Resonant Raman scattering (RS), hot luminescence (HL) and ordinary luminescence (OL) were studied in the spectra of S2 and Se2 impurity molecules in KI at various frequencies of laser excitation and temperatures. Characteristic times of phase relaxation in the excited electronic state caused by phonon scattexing were estimated. In contradiction with the simple version of the RSE theory no resonance in the Raman scattering cross section was observed when the excitation frequency was close or in resonance with a sharp no-phonon absorption line.
