Abstract
We report the first measurements of photoconductivity in bulk doped and undoped GeY Se1-Y = (Y≤0.4 ) glasses. Spectra between 1.2 and 3.0eV are presented in the temperature range 80-300K. Steady-state bimolecular recombination occurs. An enhancement of the photoconductivity takes place for inclusion of small amounts of In dopant. The reduction of photocurrent due to addition of Cu and Fe dopants is noted. A persistent photoconductivity is observed which is strongly dependent on germanium content, y, but independent of doping. A model to explain this is proposed.
