MÖSSBAUER STUDIES OF THE REDUCTION OF α-F2O3 CONTAINING ALKALI METAL HYDROXIDES

Résumé
Le mécanisme de réduction par l'hydrogène de α-Fe2O3 contenant les hydroxydes de métaux alcalins (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs) est étudié par spectroscopie Mössbauer. On montre que l'unique produit intermédiaire de la réduction est la magnétite (Fe3O4) et que le produit final est α-Fe. Les hydroxydes alcalins accélèrent la réduction sans influencer son mécanisme.
Abstract
The mechanism of reduction with hydrogen of α-Fe2O3 and Fe2O3 containing hydroxides of various alkali metals (Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs) has been studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy. It was shown that during reduction α-Fe2O3 successively passes into magnetite (Fe3O4) and α-iron. The alkali hydroxides accelerate the reduction without changing its mechanism.
