EXPERIMENTAL OBSERVATIONS ON THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN COEXISTING 4HeI AND 4HeII

Résumé
Les expériences simples avec un cryostat en rotation, démontrent l'existence d'une limite des phases entre HeI et HeII. Les "gradins" des températures remarquées, de 20-55 mK à travers la limite, sont expliqués au moyens du coefficient d'expansion négative dans HeI auprès de la ligné-λ.
Abstract
Experimental studies have been made, in a rotating cryostat, 4HeI in contact with 4HeII via a phase boundary between the two fluids. The observed temperature jumps of 20-55 mK across the boundary are explained in terms of the negative expansion coefficient for HeI close to the λ-line.
