Abstract
Spectroscopic studies using optical and ESR spectroscopy on organic molecular crystals like naphthalene and anthracene are discussed, which give the following information : the magnitude of the energy transfer matrix element between two molecules, the mobility and interaction of excitons, the incoherence of exciton motion, the properties of typical defects (so called X-traps) and the detectability of guest molecules using delayed fluorescence.
