Abstract
The transverse ac susceptibility of FeSi steels in dc bias fields has been investigated using a technique based on measurements of the response at twice the driving field frequency. The response is found to be very strongly dependent on the anisotropy distribution. A theoretical study has given reasonable qualitative agreement and leads to a possible singular point detection technique for the determination of anisotropy fields.
