Abstract
Precise determinations of the lattice parameters were performed on polycrystalline TbxY(3-x)FesO12 mixed terbium-yttrium iron garnets using X ray diffraction in the 80-300 K temperature range in absence of applied magnetic field for x equal to 1, 1.98, 2.5 and 3 respectively. In the vicinity of the compensation point, which varies with the terbium concentration from 60 to 242 K, anomalies on the temperature dependences of both lattice parameter and thermal expansion coefficient were observed.
