Abstract
Magnetocrystalline anisotropy and magnetostriction of the sample series GaxFe3-xO4 (0.1 ≤ x ≤ 1) have been measured as a function of temperature. A Verwey type transition has been found for x ≤ 0.4. The temperature dependence of K1 can be explained by using the Watanabe model : localisation or delocalisation of electrons depending on the temperature.
