Abstract
Effect of substitution of cerium by yttrium and of nickel by aluminium or cobalt on the intermediate valence compound CeNi has been studied by means of magnetic measurements at room pressure and under applied pressure and by resistivity measurements. Results show the importance of electronic parameters such as band filling and 4f-3d hybridization for the existence of the pressure induced γ- α transition of cerium in these alloys.
