Abstract
Some microstructural effects of oxygen have been observed in Nd15Fe77B8 samples corresponding to various oxygen concentrations and solidification conditions : as-cast, oxidized in air near 300 °C, oxidized with the surface remelted by electron beam, devitrified flow-cast ribbons. It is particularly shown that the oxidation process promotes the growth of glassy regions containing strongly textured α-Fe precipitates.
