Abstract
Hysteresis loops of Nd-Fe-B magnets with different surface roughness are measured in order to investigate the surface effect on nucleation for magnetization reversal. The roughness affects both coercivity and the demagnetization process. This behavior is considered to be caused by the 90° domain wall pinning of the line scratches.
