Abstract
Neutron diffraction has demonstrated that a single crystal alloy of Y0.97Er0.03 orders below TN=3.25K into a sinusoidally modulated state with a propagation vector along the c-axis. The moments lie predominantly along the c-axis, but a small (< 0.1 µB) basal plane component exhibits the same temperature dependence. Below 2 K, weak third harmonies indicate that the sinusoidal structure is beginning to square up.
