Résumé
On démontre comment mesurer directement la charge effective Z in situ d'un ion lourd rapide ralenti dans un milieu matériel. La méthode évite la normalisation par rapport à une théorie particulière. Elle ne nécessite aucune hypothèse concernant l'équilibre entre le projectile et le milieu ralentisseur. Elle permet de vérifier expérimentalement les précisions théoriques concernant la dynamique de la charge instantanée du projectile.


Abstract
It is show how it might be possible to carry out direct measurements of the effective charge Z of a fast heavy ion while stopping in a material medium. The method actually provides Z in situ, ie, not after exit from the medium, and does not require normalisation to a particular theory. Moreover, as no assumption is made as to whether or not the charge state is in equilibrium with the stopping medium at the instantaneous ion velocity, it should be possible to test experimentally the predictions of the various theories of dynamic charge-state evolution.
