Abstract
We used multilayer/KAP and multilayer/multilayer combinations in a double-crystal monochromator at the BESSY storage ring. Throughput and resolution of the ML/KAP combination compare favourably with known sources for spectroscopic applications in the 600-800 eV energy range. The ML/ML high throughput appears suited for trace-element analysis and fluorescence or Auger experiments that do not require a highly monocromatic light. These results suggest the use of ML/ML prefilters in high-resolution, multi-element soft X-ray monochromators.
