ULTRASONIC ATTENUATION IN STEELS DURING FATIGUE

Abstract
The change of ultrasonic attenuation Ɗα as a function of fatigue cycle number n correlates well with the length of fatigue crack. A depinning model of dislocations with kinks is suggested to interpret the experimental results.
