Abstract
Higher order density correlation functions are measured in supercritical xenon by depolarized light scattering (DLS) and by measurment of the non-linear dielectric effect (NLDE). The relation between the correlation functions measured by both techniques is discussed. An abrupt change in the second moment of the DLS spectrum is reported. Evidence of this effect in the NLDE experiments is also found. The significance of this experimental observation is discussed.
