FOUR-PHONON PROCESSES IN SOLIDS

Abstract
The relaxation rate of four-Phonon Processes is derived using a diagrammatic field-theoretic approach. The results are in agreement with the earlier predictions of Pomeranchuk and recent perturbation results of Ecsedy and Klemens for a relatively simple model of a solid for which it is possible to obtain analytical expression.
