Abstract
Models for the ac conductivity of disordered solids are reviewed. The difficulty of these models with experimental data particularly at low temperatures is emphasized. An alternate model is outlined which is based on a generalized distribution of low energy configurational two-level systems. Results for the ac conductivity over wide temperature and frequency ranges for the ionic conductor Naβ Alumina are presented. The implication of these results to semiconducting glasses is briefly discussed.
