THE INFLUENCE OF SHORT RANGE CORRELATIONS ON PHOTONUCLEAR REACTIONS

Abstract
The effects of the short ranged nucleon nucleon interaction on photonuclear processes are discussed ; some of the available data on (γ, pn) -, (γ, p) -, (γ, n) - and (e, e') - reactions in the intermediate energy region are analyzed in terms of a consistent treatment of the nucleus including short range correlations. The nuclear structure information contained in those experiments is compared with that deduced from pion induced reactions. The prospects of a unified picure of the nucleus is discussed.
