Abstract
The interpretation of neutron depolarization experiments in magnetic cluster- and fine particle systems has been treated theoretically by considering whether the motion of thermal neutrons is adiabatic is the strayfield of a homogeneously magnetized sphere. This model allows to characterize the influence of the strayfield around ferromagnetic clusters embedded in a non-magnetic environment on the measured neutron depolarization matrix.
