MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Fe LAYERS GROWN ON Ni

Abstract
Poly and single crystal bilayers NI-γ57Fe evaporation of 57Fe on Ni substrates are studied by CEMS. Fe atoms deposited on structural defects of Ni surfaces have localized magnetic moments ; the remaining Fe atoms appear as highly susceptible metal. In plane magnetic surface anisotropy is detected and analysed.
