Abstract
X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements have shown that ε-MnGa alloys with the DO19 type structure are stable at 600 °C in a composition range of 70-74 at% Mn. The Néel temperature is 450-490 K depending on the composition. Below 200-350 K the hexagonal lattice distorts to orthorhombic, and the materials exhibit a large spontaneous magnetization.
