ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE AND MAGNETISM OF METALLIC PEROVSKITE-TYPE MANGANESE COMPOUNDS Mn3MC (M = Zn, Ga, In, Sn)

Abstract
Self-consistent APW band calculations are performed for non-magnetic Mn3MC (M = Zn, Ga, In, Sn) and Mn3Pt. Density of states and Fermi surfaces are shown. A strong hybridization of Mn-3d and Pt-4d states is found in Mn3Pt. For Mn3GaC we also calculate the ferromagnetic band. The obtained magnetic moment is in good agreement with observation.
