COTTON-MOUTON EFFECT OF Co2+ SUBSTITUTED MAGNETIC GARNETS

Abstract
Cotton-Mouton effect and Faraday rotation were measured in the infrared wavelength region on Co2+ substituted magnetic garnet and analysed on the basis of the crystal field theory. Calculated spectra agree well with the observed ones.
