Abstract
Spin fluctuations have been studied by NMR in several cerium, ytterbium and uranium compounds exhibiting intermediate valent, Kondo or heavy fermion properties. From this study a universal thermal dependence of the f electron spin fluctuation rate emerges, at least in the 4f systems. The results are discussed by comparison with a numerical calculation by Cox in the Anderson's model and exact Bethe Ansatz results.
