Abstract
A de Haas-van Alphen study of cobalt has been performed and, for the first time, orbits corresponding to the principal sheets of the Fermi surface have been observed. Cyclotron masses along the primary crystallographic directions have been measured and the electronic mean free path in the sample is estimated. The unusually large angular variation of the amplitude of one of the frequencies is briefly discussed.
